Bill Gates canceled his keynote speech at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi just hours before the event. While his foundation claims he withdrew to keep the focus on artificial intelligence, the decision follows the release of new documents involving Jeffrey Epstein.

These files include unverified emails where Epstein Alleged Gates engaged in extramarital affairs and used illicit drugs. Gates denies these claims but expresses deep regret for his past meetings with the financier.
The summit faced further trouble as other leaders, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, also pulled out. Meanwhile, organizational failures sparked public anger:
- The Robot Fraud: Officials removed Galgotias University from the event after a staff member presented a Chinese-made robotic dog as their own invention.
- Logistical Mess: Severe road closures for VIPs forced delegates to walk miles to the venue.
- Surprise Closures: Organizers abruptly shut exhibition halls to the public, fueling further frustration.

Despite these setbacks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the CEOs of Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic continued with the scheduled program to discuss global AI governance.
